100-120K and Bonus

Role:

As a Controller, you'll be working directly with ownership and be a part of the executive team of this construction organization. As a part of the leadership team, the main initiative is to instill policies, procedures as well as strategies to help this organization continue to grow! The controller will be a hands on manager with a small team of accounting professionals as direct reports. You'll oversee and be responsible for the day to day accounting by rolling up your sleeves maintaining the transactional accounting functions, accruals, financial statement preparation, and performing general accounting functions, as required. At the same time, this person will be collaborating with ownership and the leadership team on strategic initiatives and policy implementation to help the company move to the next level!

Responsibilities:

• Be a part of the leadership team by overseeing and supporting financial and accounting operations
• Manage a small team of accounting professionals including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and administrative professionals.
• Manage and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost accounting, payroll, bank reconciliations and cash flow management
• Develop, implement, and maintain the accounting system
• Develop, implement and improve internal accounting controls and financial reporting
• Perform budgeting, forecasting and analysis reporting
• Work with leadership to generate Work-In-Progress and project accounting as well as reporting
• Manage all AIA accounting
• Manage the general ledger, produce monthly financial statements, as well as manage month-end and year-end closing
• Coordinate quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits, and tax returns
• Work with ownership and Operations to ensure financial directives are followed including: WIP, Month End Close, Year End Close, Project Status reports.

Working Conditions:
This position is an in office position 5 days a week.

Compensation:
A competitive compensation package will be available for this position including Base, Bonuses, medical, dental, vision, 401K contribution, vacation and sick time, paid holidays, etc.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• 7 years of progressive accounting experience; preferably within a construction, engineering or project accounting environment
• Prior knowledge of AIA is a must
• Ability to work with all levels of employees, ability to manager a diverse group of professionals
• Foundations experience is a big plus but not required
